Some art taken right near St Vincents

(otherwise known as Darlo) is a safe and trendy inner-city suburb. Although prostitutes still walk the streets, the area is now dominated by young professionals and students.

Bustling Victoria Street

If you're someone who is after some peace and quiet, you've definitely picked the wrong area of Sydney to live in.

  • Quality, private tertiary institutions.

  • Yoga and gym fitness freaks. More yoga studios and gyms are opening up on this end of Sydney than anywhere else.

  • Cool places to hang out for great coffee

  • The City of Sydney has also offered grants for more art galleries to set up shop on Oxford Street

    Who lives in :

  • Young singles and professionals. Many can only afford to rent studio apartments in this area.

  • Executives

  • Expats

  • Students

  • Fitness junkies

  • Creative people

  • Older people who were brought up in boring areas, and who want to be seen as arty and inner urban.

  • Housing mainly comprises of renovated art deco apartments; although on the city end of Oxford Street - some stylish, newer apartments are available to live in. There are a few Victorian Terrace Houses around as well.

    Right near Taylor Square

The City of Sydney in conjunction with Gaffa will soon be offering subsidised apartments for more artists to live in the area. Seven lucky artists will move into this art deco space in March/April 2014.
