Iconic Australian Foods
Sausages are also another iconic Aussie food
Australian cuisine has culminated from our indigenous and colonial past. In particular, our indigenous society exudes a rich heritage of occupying Australian land and hunting for their own food. They have done this for around 40,000 - 60,000 years. This ideology was known as the
hunter-gatherer or the
caveman diet, otherwise referred to as
"bush tucker."
From there British influences, and the arrival of Convicts and other historical activities has evolved our food during the eras. Not to mention an influx of different overseas migrants being accepted into the country in boosting Australia's population. Such trends have changed the way Australia eats.
Another trendsetter
If such revolutions did not exist, we would be on a staple diet of emu and kangaroo to name.
