has grown up, and the local residents are super passionate about their area. They will stand up and fight for it if they have to. Bohemian and retro types fit right in, and so do those that love constant action. They will constantly protest if they disagree with a new development taking shape.

Once upon a time, was a honeymoon destination until it became prostitution and drugs central in the 70's. Popular Australian rock band The Hunters and Collectors played many a gig here in launching their music career in the 80's.

There are no excuses to be bored. There is so much to do to stay entertained in this area. Acland and Fitzroy Streets have plenty of gastronomic feasts on offer.

Although the intelligent types have given the area a good name, however some hard core drugs and prostitution can still surface - combined with homelessness.
